To create the watermark effect, add a text background to your slides in PowerPoint.

  • Choose View > Slide Master to watermark every slide in the presentation. Select the slide master, the first item, by scrolling to the top of the thumbnail pane on the left.
  • Click and drag to create the text box on the slide master by selecting Insert > Text Box.
  • In the text box, type the watermark text, such as "DRAFT".
  • Click and hold the rotation handle at the top of the text box while dragging your mouse left or right to adjust the alignment of your watermark text.
  •  Choose the text that is there. Make any other font and style modifications you desire after selecting a light font fill color. (Make sure the text box is chosen if you can't see the Format tab.)
  • Slide Master is out. The text will be on every slide except for the title page.
